What qualifications do I need to work in early childhood education and care?
Entry-level roles as an educator assistant require a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, which you will complete as part of your 12-month traineeship with Zeal Futures. A specialised First Aid for children unit is typically included as part of this Certificate III course to ensure you have the practical, life-saving skills required on-site.
To progress your career further, roles such as a room leader or group leader require a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, while Early Childhood Teachers must hold a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and be registered with AITSL.
Please note that all educators must hold a current First Aid certificate. Additionally, because you will be working directly with minors, a Working With Children Check (WWCC) must be completed individually by the applicant and cleared before you can commence your traineeship position.
