Am I eligible to complete a Certificate III?
In most cases, you can complete a Certificate III regardless of your prerequisites. Depending on your chosen qualification, you may need to complete a Certificate II or below to gain specific skills. If you’re unsure, talk to your career advisor to break down the needs for your apprenticeship or traineeship.
Are apprenticeships and traineeships paid positions through Zeal Futures?
All apprenticeships and traineeships with Zeal Futures are paid employment positions, paid weekly based on the relevant industry Award. Some of our host employers also agree to pay apprentices and trainees at above-award rates. With the right opportunity, you’ll become qualified to earn a competitive salary and leave benefits.
What partner employers will I work with in Nowra?
With Zeal Futures, we will connect you with the right employer to complete your qualification. Our partner employers include Service NSW, BlueScope, Whitehaven Coal, Centennial, Shoalhaven City Council, and GM3.
How long will it take me to complete my studies?
With a healthy work-life balance, Zeal Futures offers apprenticeships over a 4-year duration and traineeships over 1 to 2 years, depending on the qualification. For early high school students, there is potential for early completion also.
Throughout this timeframe, you’ll be working alongside experienced professionals, taking on vital project tasks so that you can gain the experience needed to enter the workforce.

How does a school-based apprenticeship count towards my high school certificate?
The units you undertake throughout your formal qualification studies need to meet weight and eligibility requirements to contribute to your HSC completion. You can plan your program schedule with your career advisor to take this pathway, helping you graduate high school with the correct training requirements and a strong lead into your full-term career.
Can I complete my qualification while still working?
At Zeal Futures, we make our traineeship opportunities achievable for everyone. Our trade qualifications are designed so that you can successfully complete your studies while working, with flexible and minimal allocations so that you can work at your own pace.
To break it down:
Apprenticeships have one day per week allocated, or a block release period, where you will attend your RTO for training.
Traineeships are typically allocated 3 hours per week.
