GM3 offers a unique opportunity for you to learn your trade below the surface and kickstart your career in mining.
We partner with GM3 to offer apprenticeships at their Appin and Dendrobium underground mine operations, alongside their West Cliff and Dendrobium Coal preparation plants. Apprenticeships are available in the electrical and mechanical trades.
As a GM3 apprentice, you will complete a Certificate III trade qualification over 4 years, combining structured learning with real, on-the-job experience.
Your apprenticeship will take you both above and below the surface, helping you develop the practical skills, confidence, and capability needed for a successful career.

You’ll work alongside experienced tradespeople, contributing to the production of premium-quality coking coal for steelmaking and working with a range of equipment and technology.
Throughout your training, you’ll also receive mentoring and support from a dedicated Zeal Futures Workforce Solutions Specialist, who will ensure you are equipped to get the most out of your apprenticeship experience.
