Frequently asked questions.
How long is an apprenticeship or traineeship?
Apprenticeships are typically 4 years, while traineeships are generally 1-2 years, depending on the qualification. There is also the potential for early completion if you complete your formal training early.
If you are a high-school student, you also have the option to complete stage 1 of a school-based training program to kickstart your career earlier and leverage your transferable skills.
Do I get paid while completing an apprenticeship or traineeship?
Yes, apprenticeships and traineeships are paid employment positions. As a Zeal Futures employee, we’ll pay you weekly based on the relevant industry Award. Some of our host employers also agree to pay apprentices and trainees at above-award rates.
Will I get time at work to complete my qualification?
As an apprentice, you will usually be allocated one day per week, or a block release period, where you will attend your RTO for training.
For traineeships, you are typically allocated 3 hours per week to complete your studies at work. Scheduling this can be discussed with your Zeal Futures Workforce Solutions Specialist and your host supervisor.
What qualifications will I receive at the end of my apprenticeship or traineeship?
All apprentices and trainees will obtain a nationally recognised qualification from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) upon successfully completing their training, which is highly valuable to employers in the Australian job market. Apprentices and trainees typically complete a qualification at a Certificate II, III, or IV level.
We also offer a number of courses at our campus location and online that range from Certificate II to Diploma.
