AHC20416 Certificate II in Horticulture.

Students will complete the following units of competency:

• AHCCHM201 - Apply chemicals under supervision
• AHCNSY201 - Pot up plants
• AHCNSY203 - Undertake propagation activities
• AHCPCM201 - Recognise plants
• AHCPGD201 - Plant trees and shrubs
• AHCPGD203 - Prune shrubs and small trees
• AHCPMG201 - Treat weeds
• AHCPMG202 - Treat plant pests, diseases and disorders
• AHCSOL202 - Assist with soil or growing media sampling and testing
• AHCWHS201 - Participate in work health and safety processes
• AHCWRK209 - Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
• AHCWRK205 - Participate in workplace communications
• MEM18001C - Use hand tools
• AHCLSC201 - Assist with landscape construction work
• AHCWRK204 - Work effectively in the industry

To be eligible for this training under the NSW Government's Smart and Skilled program, you must be:

• 15 years or older at the time of enrolment
• Not currently enrolled in school
• Living or working in NSW
• An Australian citizen, permanent resident, Humanitarian Visa holder, or New Zealand citizen.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Eligibility criteria applies.

If you are not eligible for a fully funded placement, course fees are as follows:

• First Qualification - $1,120
• Second Qualification - $1,340
• Concession - $160

A student who falls into one of the below categories will qualify for fee-free training:

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
• Person with a disability
• Dependant child, spouse or partner of a recipient of a Disability Support Pension
• Refugee or Asylum Seeker (and eligible partners) – for training up to and including Certificate IV
• Recipient of a Fee-Free Scholarship – for training up to and including Certificate IV

This course is valued at $4,900 for students who are ineligible for government funding.

Training for this course will be delivered face to face at our Ourimbah campus.

Students are required to bring a pen, paper, and folder to class. You must wear appropriate long pants and enclosed black shoes. All other course resources will be provided.
