MEM20422 Certificate II in Engineering Pathways
Course Information.
Units of Competency
Students will complete the following units of competency:
CORE
- MEM13015 - Work safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineering
- MSMMENV272 - Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
- MEMPE005 - Develop a career plan for the engineering and manufacturing industries
- MEMPE006 - Undertake a basic engineering project
ELECTIVES
- MEM16006 - Organise and communicate information
- MEM11011 - Undertake manual handling
- MEM18001 - Use hand tools
- MEM16008 - Interact with computing technology
- MEMPE001 - Use engineering workshop machines
- MEM18002 - Use power tools/handheld operations
- MEMPE002 - Use electric welding machines
- MEMPE007 - Pull apart and reassemble engineering mechanisms
Funding & Eligibility
To be eligible for this training under the NSW Government's Smart and Skilled program, you must be:
- 15 years or older at the time of enrolment
- Not currently enrolled in school
- Living or working in NSW
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident, Humanitarian Visa holder, or New Zealand citizen.

Fees
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Eligibility criteria applies.
If you are not eligible for a fully funded placement, course fees are as follows:
- First Qualification - $1,320
- Second Qualification - $1,580
- Concession - $160
A student who falls into one of the below categories will qualify for fee-free training:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
- Person with a disability
- Dependant child, spouse or partner of a recipient of a Disability Support Pension
- Refugee or Asylum Seeker (and eligible partners) – for training up to and including Certificate IV
- Recipient of a Fee-Free Scholarship – for training up to and including Certificate IV

This course is valued at $5,600 for students who are ineligible for government funding.
Delivery
Training for this course will be delivered face to face at our training facilities. This course is available at our Gateshead and Rutherford campuses.
Students will attend training 3 days per week over 7 weeks.
